Welcome

Hello, I’m Nicky Hewett, a certified Buteyko Method instructor at Buteyko Clinic International, and teacher of Yoga and Classical Ayurveda from Marlborough, New Zealand. I am currently based in Thailand working as a Wellness Specialist in Bangkok.

With over 20 years of personal practice and professional teaching experience in Asia and New Zealand, I bring a practical, warm, and spiritual approach to my teaching.

I am committed to helping you improve your self-awareness, and overall physical and emotional health; especially regarding quality sleep, reducing stress and anxiety, learning how to relax, and connecting to a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in your life.

The foundation of my teaching and coaching is based on understanding and retraining your underlying breathing pattern (the way you breathe unconsciously and without full awareness).

Retraining your breathing is done primarily through relaxation and simple breathing practices to establish functional and healthy efficient breathing (quiet, slow, light, diaphragmatic, regular breathing that is in and out through your nose both day and night).

Most people start to see positive results within days. The practices are gentle and repeated little and often to allow the respiratory centre in the brain to adapt to a new ‘normal’. At this point many symptoms related to dysfunctional breathing start to reduce or disappear.

After this change has happened you can choose to practice further (to create an even more optimal breathing pattern and to continue to enjoy the relaxation benefits) or you can stop your formal practice and simply be more aware and present with your body and breath (without being overly focused on it).

The benefits are many. Improved sleep, digestion, and immune function. Better focus, ease, and energy. More capacity to process emotional and physical challenges as they arise.

I look forward to supporting you!
